1. What Types of VAS Steel Are There?

VAS construction steel has two types: ribbed steel bars and smooth steel coils. VAS Steel bars come in grades such as SD295A, CB 300-V, CB 400-V, CB 500-V, Gr 40 (300), and Gr 60 (420). VAS Steel coils come in grades CB 240-T and CB 300-T.

2.1. Identification via ETIKET Label
ETIKET is a heat-resistant label used in the steel industry, welded directly to steel bundles or coils as soon as they leave the furnace. The ETIKET contains important information about the product.

All genuine VAS Steel products come with an ETIKET label. Both the front and back of the label are filled with product details.

Front of the ETIKET: The logo of VAS, company name, contact details, QR code, technical standards, steel grade, diameter, length, weight, steel lot code, quality standard logo, etc.

Back of the ETIKET: Detailed information about the technical standards and steel grade.

An important feature of the VAS Steel ETIKET label is that it is designed and automatically updated with information from multiple sources. Therefore, the label contains full details about the VAS Steel batch. When transactions such as sales, warehouse transfers, and inventory checks occur, the label's PDA is scanned and updated into the main system. This makes it easy for customers to trace the origin of their VAS Steel products.

2.2. Identification via Markings on the Steel Bar
For VAS Steel coils (including grades CB 240-T and CB 300-T), the “VAS” logo is embossed on the steel's surface.

For VAS Steel bars, the product can be identified by its color coating, logo, and embossed markings on each bar. Each steel grade has a different color coating. For example, green, red-orange, yellow, and blue correspond to grades CB3/Gr40/SD390, CB4, CB5, and SD295, respectively. The steel bars also feature embossed “VAS” logos, grade names, and diameters.

2.3. Identification via Visual Inspection
This method requires keen observation. However, it's not too difficult to identify genuine VAS Steel products visually.

Genuine VAS Steel bars are dark green with clear, evenly spaced raised spiral threads. The markings on the steel are clear. The surface of the steel is smooth, with minimal color loss on any creases.

Counterfeit VAS Steel often has a very dark green color, with spirals that are not raised and uneven. The markings are blurry and not embossed. The steel bars may have multiple creases and noticeable color loss, or even cracks in the paint.
