Len Lye Centre Art Museum
Standing out in the city of New Plymouth, New Zealand, with its modern beauty, the Len Lye Centre Art Museum showcases the works of Len Lye – a renowned artist and experimental filmmaker.
The Len Lye Centre Museum is likened to a gem in the heart of the city, with its shimmering exterior made up of 540 stainless steel panels, each 14 meters tall, creating impressive light and motion effects. Inside the museum, rows of columns resemble a stage curtain leading into the lobby. From above, the edges of the columns form a “koru linkage” shape, like young leaves unfurling, symbolizing new life rising and striving towards peace.
The "temple" of art, the Len Lye Centre, is a testament to the remarkable flexibility of strong, durable steel, which can be both tough and yet incredibly soft and creative. Viewing steel not just as a commercial product, VAS Group consistently invests and innovates to create millions of "Steel Artworks," bringing life to iconic structures across the country.
