Benefits of Recycled Metals
Mining activities have significant environmental impacts, including the generation of waste, depletion of raw resources, and increased consumption of energy and water. Therefore, using recycled materials such as iron, steel, plastic, and paper is considered an optimal solution, benefiting both the environment and the economy.
The United States Environmental Protection Agency [US EPA] reports that each ton of new steel made from scrap steel saves: 1,115 kg of iron ore, 625 kg of coal, and 53 kg of limestone. Recycling steel saves 60% of energy and 40% of water consumption, while reducing air pollution by 86% and carbon emissions by 58% compared to producing steel directly from iron ore. Recycled steel also has better quality due to its composition and differentiated technological standards.
As a sustainable choice for the future, VAS Group has focused on investing in and flexibly applying the circular economy model for the past 25 years. The Group is proud to be Vietnam’s leading Green Steel Brand, “recycling” scrap iron/steel into "VAS Green Steel" with international quality, environmentally friendly – the ideal material for long-lasting, “Green” structures.
